With an investment of over COP 120,000 million, it acquired 60% of the Sofitel Bar\u00fa Calablanca Beach Resort, a hotel that will be operated by the renowned French chain Accor under the Sofitel brand.<\/p>\n<p>This property is located on the exclusive Isla de Bar\u00fa, just a few kilometers from Cartagena. The project was built by Arquitectura &amp; Concreto, on land provided by Grupo Argos, who will jointly with Pei be the owners of the hotel.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Considered the first luxury and entertainment beach hotel in the country, Calablanca features 10 towers of accommodation with 187 rooms, all with sea views; among which stand out 23 suites, 8,000 square meters of beachfront area, and 5 swimming pools. <em>spa<\/em> and a convention center for over 450 people.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of the most important attributes of an investment portfolio is diversification, and that&#8217;s why we decided to invest in a hotel project that will be operated by a group like Accor, which has extensive experience in the luxury hotel sector. Pei Asset Management structured Pei\u2019s participation in the asset with a preferred return stream for a period of 5 years, during which it is projected that the asset will stabilize,\u201d said Jairo Corrales, president of Pei Asset Management.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, it is important to note that the Sofitel Bar\u00fa Calablanca Beach Resort is pursuing LEED certification, an international standard from the U.S. Green Building Council, which recognizes properties built with sustainable practices and environmental design, as conceived in this project from its inception.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The hotel complex is the result of investment by Colombian investors who have believed in achieving sustainable projects. The acquisition includes a natural environment designed to care for the ecosystem while minimizing water and energy consumption through the use of solar panels.
