November, 2020. <\/strong>Pei, real estate investment vehicle, the leading company in the country, managed by Pei Asset Management, continues to be committed to the well-being of Colombians. Recently, 12 of its properties: Jard\u00edn Plaza Cali, Jard\u00edn Plaza C\u00facuta and Plaza Central shopping centers, as well as other assets from various categories such as City U, Torre CCI, Atrio Torre Norte, Capital Towers, Elemento, Deloitte, Metropolitan Business Center, World Business Port Building and QBE Central De Seguros, obtained this certification.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, it is essential to highlight that, in the case of Colombia, through Resolution 666 of April 2020, the National Government established \u00abthe adoption of the general biosecurity protocol for all economic, social activities and sectors of public administration.\u00bb In this regard, since June 1, Pei&#8217;s assets had been operating \u00abnormally,\u00bb thanks to the timely implementation of the health measures required by regulatory bodies.<\/p>\n<p>It is worth noting that during the first week of August, Jard\u00edn Plaza Cali and Jard\u00edn Plaza C\u00facuta were the first shopping centers in Latin America to obtain certification from ICONTEC, demonstrating the proactive approach taken by PEI assets in response to the pandemic, among other things, contributing directly to the stabilization and subsequent recovery of the national economy.<\/p>\n<p>This certification is issued by the Colombian Institute of Technical Standards and Certification (Icontec), an entity that, following the situation, was tasked with validating biosafety protocols and generating a permanent brand certificate with a Biosafety Operations Seal for various public and private organizations in the country. The certification is based on Decree 539 of 13 April 2020, from the Office of the President of the Republic, which establishes biosafety measures to mitigate, prevent the spread of, and properly manage the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>It is important to note that the seal covers a one-year period during which systematic implementation and application of biosecurity protocols will be determined to minimize the risk of coronavirus transmission among our tenants, visitors, employees, and suppliers in relation to certified and supervised properties. Furthermore, each property will undergo random and extraordinary evaluations, which are determined according to the specific characteristics of the type of asset, thereby verifying compliance with all relevant points of the standard. In addition, relevant health authorities continue to conduct audits as deemed necessary.<\/p>\n<p>In turn, Iv\u00e1n Dar\u00edo Parra, Manager of Asset Management at Pei Asset Management, stated that \u00abthis seal provides all visitors, tenants, collaborators, and suppliers with the confidence and transparency necessary to ensure full compliance with biosecurity protocols in all assets within the Pei portfolio. It is important to note that since the beginning of the pandemic, Pei Asset Management, in collaboration with asset operators, has worked tirelessly to incorporate and verify the responsible and comprehensive implementation of protocols and measures provided by the National Government, in favor of the health of Colombians.<\/p>\n<p>Before the end of this year, Pei Asset Management expects to obtain certification for all 24 Pei assets and, for the next six months, continue certifying a larger number of properties.
