{"id":15712,"date":"2020-01-31T09:50:26","date_gmt":"2020-01-31T14:50:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pei.com.co\/pei-consolida-el-100-de-propiedad-del-centro-comercial-plaza-central\/"},"modified":"2026-07-29T18:06:22","modified_gmt":"2026-07-29T23:06:22","slug":"pei-consolidates-100-ownership-of-the-plaza-central-shopping-center","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pei.com.co\/en\/pei-consolidates-100-ownership-of-the-plaza-central-shopping-center\/","title":{"rendered":"Pei consolidates 100% ownership of the Plaza Central shopping center"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><em>With an additional investment of COP 106 1,001,000.<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>The Plaza Central shopping center has a lettable area of 75,000 square meters.<sup>2<\/sup>4 floors and approximately 3,000 parking spaces.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Bogot\u00e1 D.C., february 2019.<\/strong> Pei, a real estate investment vehicle and a leading company in Colombia managed by Pei Asset Management, has confirmed the complete acquisition of the Plaza Central shopping center.<\/p>\n<p>Pei, who had already made an investment in the shopping center today, announces the acquisition of the remaining stake, becoming the sole owner of the asset with the 100 %.<\/p>\n<p>One of the advantages of being a sole owner (Pei) is administrative control over the asset and decision-making regarding the commercial mix, which allows for faster implementation of business and center operations strategies that benefit different audiences.<\/p>\n<p>The transaction confirms the company\u2019s interest in making long-term investments, understanding the evolution of the real estate market and identifying opportunities with potential for appreciation, such as this shopping center, which added value to the area.<\/p>\n<p>The commercial complex has an area of 75,000 square meters.<sup>2<\/sup> from leasable area and has various commercial alternatives with its 340 stores, 252 brands, and 60 international-standard restaurants.<\/p>\n<p>With this transaction, Pei aims to transform the shopping centers under its management into experience centers. The success of Plaza Central is due to its mixed-use nature, which offers a combination of commercial, dining, entertainment, wellness, and health services, making it a unique destination.<\/p>\n<p>Central Gourmet is the food walk in the shopping center that with 11,000 m<sup>2<\/sup> and 30, a brand from Europe, Asia, the United States, Peru, Argentina, Mexico, and Colombia, is ranked as number one in the city, according to the first study on customer satisfaction of food offerings in commercial centers, malls, and retail stores.<\/p>\n<p>After three years of operation, Plaza Central is a leading commercial center in western Bogot\u00e1, with a 95% satisfaction rate among visitors and a visitor growth rate exceeding 10% in the last year.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abFor us, it is very important to be able to participate in this project as a reference for the shopping center sector in the country. Additionally, we want visitors to have an attractive offering in terms of commercial mix, sustainability and different service centers all in one place,\u00bb said Jairo Corrales, President of Pei Asset Management.<\/p>\n<p>Plaza Central currently holds a LEED Silver certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), which is the world&#8217;s most prestigious recognition for sustainable buildings, due to its environmentally friendly initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>Within those initiatives, Plaza Central has 6.022 m<sup>2<\/sup> vegetation that does not require watering, as it is done through rainwater harvesting.
