Pei Asset Management, the real estate manager of Pei, informs its stakeholders about the status of its portfolio following the earthquake that occurred on August 10, 2026, with a magnitude of 7.4 and an epicenter in San Jos\u00e9 del Palmar, Choc\u00f3. No injuries were reported at any of the properties comprising the portfolio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Immediately following the event, Pei Asset Management activated its emergency response protocol, prioritizing people\u2019s safety and the verification of the condition of its real estate assets. In the hours that followed, contact was established with all tenants and occupants, with particular attention to the regions where the earthquake was felt most strongly, enabling the condition of the portfolio\u2019s properties to be verified. As a result of this review, 58 properties reported some form of issue, primarily related to non-structural building elements, such as cracks, falling finishes, and damage to fa\u00e7ades and windows. Where required, technical inspections were conducted and structural engineers were engaged to assess the affected properties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Of these 58 properties, 24 initially required their operations to be suspended to carry out the corresponding assessments and inspections. As of August 28, 16 had already resumed operations, while 8 remained subject to partial or full operating restrictions. These properties represent 18,744 square meters of leasable area, equivalent to 1.7% of the portfolio\u2019s total leasable area, and account for rental income equivalent to approximately 0.1% of total projected revenues for 2026. The impacts are concentrated primarily in Valle del Cauca and the Coffee Region, and intervention and reopening schedules have been established for each asset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Operations at the properties have been progressively restored, on an asset-by-asset basis, in coordination with property management teams, tenants, and local authorities, and only once safety conditions have been verified.
With respect to the potential economic effects of the earthquake, Pei has a robust insurance program, contracted with leading insurance companies, which provides coverage for earthquake-related damage and for the economic impacts arising from the event, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the respective policies. The corresponding claims have already been formally filed, and an independent loss-adjusting firm with national and international recognition has been appointed. Therefore, no material impact on the vehicle\u2019s financial results arising from this situation is expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Joint inspections are currently underway to quantify physical damage, associated expenses, and potential economic impacts. Pei Asset Management continues to closely monitor and address the situation and maintains coordination with tenants, property management teams, authorities, insurers, and other stakeholders involved, with the objective of advancing the recovery of the properties and the normalization of their operations.
