Bogotá D.C., July 2019. Pei, the leading real estate investment vehicle in the country, managed by Pei Asset Management, is adding its first healthcare property to its specialized asset portfolio: the Sanitas Tequendama Medical Center located in Cali, with a leasable area of 3,552 m² and which began operations at the end of 2018.
Signing a lease agreement with EPS Sanitas confirms the trust that the Sanitas Group has placed in Pei over many years. This once again demonstrates our commitment to providing our tenants with valuable real estate solutions as strategic partners.«said Jairo Corrales, President of Pei Asset Management.
The Castañeda Vacca & Cia and Construandes firms are part of the group responsible for constructing the medical center, which lasted 12 months under a «custom-built» model. Once completed, the property was acquired by Pei, who signed a 10-year lease agreement with EPS Sanitas; this would be the first of two properties that the real estate investment vehicle would acquire in Cali with these characteristics, the other would be located in Ciudad Jardín.
The property is located in the city of Cali, in the Tequendama district, a strategic area with a high concentration of healthcare-related businesses. This clinic, operated by Sanitas EPS, will provide users with access to basic outpatient emergency services, a clinical laboratory, and medical consultation rooms.
We are proud to be able to support a company like EPS Sanitas in its expansion of its network of medical centers across the country and in further diversifying our portfolio with high-quality assets. This was explained by Luisa González, Investment Manager at Pei Asset Management,
With this acquisition, Pei completes the acquisition of a total of 142 corporate, commercial, logistical, and specialized assets in 30 cities in Colombia, representing more than 970,500 m² of leasable area valued at over CO$5.7 trillion.
