Bogotá D.C., July 2019. Pei, the leading real estate investment vehicle in the country, managed by Pei Asset Management, adds to its specialized-asset portfolio its first healthcare-sector property, the Sanitas Tequendama Medical Center, located in Cali, with a leasable area of 3,552 m², which began operating in late 2018.
Signing a lease agreement with EPS Sanitas reaffirms the trust Grupo Sanitas has placed in Pei for many years; this shows once again our commitment to our tenants to be strategic partners, providing them with valuable real estate solutions,”, said Jairo Corrales, president of Pei Asset Management.
The firms Castañeda Vacca & Cia and Construandes were part of the group responsible for building the medical center, a process that took 12 months under the built-to-suit model. Once built, the property was acquired by Pei, which signed a 10-year lease agreement with EPS Sanitas; this would be the first of two such properties the real estate investment vehicle would acquire in Cali, with the other located in Ciudad Jardín.
The property is located in Cali, in the Tequendama sector, a strategic area dominated by healthcare-related institutions. At this EPS Sanitas Medical Center, users will have access to basic outpatient emergency services, a clinical laboratory, and medical consultation rooms.
“We are proud to support a company like EPS Sanitas in its plan to expand its network of medical centers across the country, and to continue diversifying our portfolio with top-tier assets,”, explained Luisa González, Investments Manager at Pei Asset Management.
With this acquisition, Pei now has a total of 142 corporate, commercial, logistics, and specialized assets in 30 cities across Colombia, representing more than 970,500 m² of leasable area valued at more than COP $5.7 trillion.
