  • The investment in this transaction was COP 315,000 million, through which the real estate investment vehicle adds 30,000 m2 of leasable area to its portfolio.
  • With Nuestro Bogotá, Pei now has 14 shopping centers in its commercial portfolio, valued at more than 3 trillion pesos.

Bogotá, April 9, 2021, Pei, the leading real estate investment vehicle in the country, managed by Pei Asset Management, announced its addition to the Nuestro Bogotá shopping center with a stake equivalent to 52% of the asset, corresponding to a leasable area of 30,000 m². The investment in this transaction was COP 315,000 million.

The Nuestro Bogotá shopping center has 479 retail units, of which 149 were sold to independent investors. The stake acquired by Pei corresponds to 70.5% of the remaining 330 units. This transaction is part of Pei’s long-term strategy to support the expansion of the Nuestro shopping-center brand in different cities across the country. In addition to Pei, other investors participating in this project include Jaguar Capital, Arquitectura y Concreto, and Grupo G40 (the latter groups well-known fashion brands such as Chevignon, MNG, Koaj, Studio F, and Casio, among others) “Nuestro Bogotá becomes a strategic project for Pei. Given its proximity to El Dorado Airport, we can attract a diverse audience, such as workers from the business centers located in the area and guests from nearby hotels. In addition, the wide range of dining and entertainment options will make it the preferred destination for families in the Engativá locality, the second most densely populated in the District,” said Jairo Corrales, president of Pei Asset Management.

Nuestro Bogotá shopping center, a place for everyone

The recently opened shopping center is located in Bogotá at Avenida José Celestino Mutis (Calle 63) and Avenida Ciudad de Cali, five minutes from El Dorado International Airport. It has 158 thousand m2 of built area, close to 58,000 m2 of leasable area, more than 2,000 parking spaces, and 479 retail units.

Total investment in the shopping center’s development reaches $650,000 million, which has generated more than 3,000 direct and indirect jobs.

Nuestro Bogotá aims to position itself as Colombia’s next-generation shopping center. To that end, one key focus is attracting children, which is why various spaces have been set up where kids can enjoy a unique experience exploring a real airplane used in World War II, located in the food court. Part of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory was also recreated, along with a Playland entertainment area to round out the experience.

As for dining, the shopping center features “Zona N,” a space that recreates an old train station, where diners will find a varied and exclusive culinary offering with restaurants from Bogotá’s most distinguished areas. A food court with traditional brands will also be available.

Nuestro Bogotá will feature a business fair area for startups, aimed at supporting new businesses in their growth stage, without leaving behind service offerings such as healthcare, fashion, financial services, and other categories.

Finally, travelers, visitors, and business people will be able to enjoy the capsule hotel — the first in Latin America — for short, comfortable, affordable stays that optimize space. It also offers a wide range of coworking spaces.
