Pei, the real estate investment vehicle for Colombians, and Hada International, a company dedicated to producing and distributing personal care and household products, recently opened a new distribution center for the storage and distribution of goods in the La Cayena Free Trade Zone, near Barranquilla.
The warehouse, delivered turnkey following a custom fit-out, involved an investment of COP 3,000 million and has a usable area of 3,600 m². Its fit-out took a record three and a half months, considering that projects of this type typically require approximately 6 months — a 40% time savings.
With this warehouse, Pei and Hada International are committed to strengthening the economic reactivation of the Atlántico department and the surrounding area of the municipality where it is located, generating more than 820 direct and indirect jobs.
In addition, the organization’s export capacity is expected to double, reaching a total of 4,000 tons per month. Hada International currently supplies 20% of the American market with its portfolio of personal-care soaps made from 100% vegetable oils.
“At Pei, we reaffirm our interest in building long-term relationships with our tenants, offering assets designed according to their real estate needs. In the case of Hada International, we have supported their expansion and growth process for more than 4 years,” said Jairo Corrales, President of Pei Asset Management.
As a result, Hada International now leases 14,823 m2 across Pei’s logistics assets, a category that currently comprises 37 assets totaling 410,215 square meters.
“Having Pei as a partner for real estate development is truly a competitive advantage. We have had a relationship spanning several years, which has allowed us to invest wisely in what is essential to our business model and, in doing so, grow quickly, profitably, and sustainably,” said Mauricio Trujillo, president of Hada International.
The company plans to continue on its growth path and expects to build 12,000 m2 for its operations by 2023.
